Alisha began her career in occupational health and safety after obtaining OFA Level 3 certification in the Elk Valley. Starting in a loss prevention role within a fast-paced mining environment, she developed a strong interest in safety through hands-on experience, helping others, and continuous learning.
She progressed into roles focused on risk assessment, training, and safety management, eventually leading to independent work supporting small businesses in developing and implementing safety management systems. Her work includes building OHS manuals, policies, procedures, and delivering practical training programs.
Currently, Alisha specializes in safety system development, program implementation, and supporting organizations with practical, field-focused safety management and training. She has played a key role in restructuring safety programs and supporting companies in achieving and maintaining strong safety standards.
With experience in both industrial and remote environments, Alisha emphasizes practical, easy-to-use safety solutions, strong communication, and proactive hazard management. She is passionate about fostering a positive safety culture where workers feel empowered to speak up and take ownership of safety.
Alisha has seen the industry evolve from a compliance-driven approach to one focused on engagement, prevention, and mental health. She is particularly interested in the growing role of technology in OHS, while recognizing that strong leadership and culture remain the foundation for safe workplaces.
